The Guys
By now you are probably wondering, who in their right mind is foolish enough to attempt this? Exactly who plans to load up what is effectively a golf cart and take it where only four wheel drives belong? Well allow me to introduce you to the team.
Paul
At 17, just a couple of months before finishing High School, Paul bought a Round the World airline ticket. He planned to use it upon graduating, taking a long awaited gap year…a plan he failed to tell his parents. Just a couple of weeks prior to departing, Paul casually brought up the topic of his trip by asking for a lift to the airport. He also chose to omit the fact that his first destination was to be India. Since then Paul has traveled the world many times over and visited over thirty countries.
Now aged 21, Paul works at that very same airport, to which he needed that lift to, as a Passenger Services Supervisor. Paul has also taken many more trips out of the country, without telling his parents since 2005.
During his travels Paul has:
- Been detained by Border Authorities in England.
- Hurled Tomatoes at La Tomatina, Thrown coloured powder at Holi in India and Spilt beer at Munich’s famous Oktoberfest.
- Paraglided through the Swiss Alps.
- Led two impromptu tours (one in Spain and one in Japan).
- and been upgraded to Business Class twice (the perks of his job).
This time round Paul is most looking forward to attempting to cross the Pamir Highway (Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan).
